Our C-Section Scar Care Kit is a complete silicone scar care system designed to support the appearance of your scar as it recovers. Featuring reusable, 3 x 100% medical-grade Silicone Scar Strips, a gentle Silicone Strip Wash to cleanse the strips and a custom silicone storage tray for hygienic storage between uses. This purpose-led set helps support smoother, softer, and more refined-looking skin.

Directions for use

Ensure scar is fully healed and stitch-free before use.

Begin with 4–8 hours of daily wear, slowly increasing to full-day use as the skin adjusts. For best results, continue use for at least 8 weeks on new scars, and between 12–24 weeks on existing scars. Each strip is completely waterproof, and is made to last up to 4 weeks if cared for correctly.

STEP 1: Ensure the scar area is clean and dry.
STEP 2: Remove the silicone strip from the foil sachet and peel off the protective backing.
STEP 3: Gently apply the strip over the scar, ensuring full coverage.
STEP 4: After wearing, remove and clean with PURE MAMA Silicone Strip Wash. Rinse well and allow to air dry before storing on tray, sticky side down, or reapplying.

WHEN CAN I START USING SILICONE AFTER MY C-SECTION? Begin once your incision is fully closed, dry, and free from scabbing or discharge. This is usually around 2–3 weeks postpartum, but always follow your healthcare provider’s guidance. Do not apply to open or unhealed skin.


HOW MANY HOURS PER DAY SHOULD I WEAR THEM AND FOR HOW LONG? Wear for 12–24 hours per day for a minimum of 8–12 weeks. Older or thicker scars may benefit from consistent use for up to 3–6 months.


ARE THEY SAFE TO USE WHILE BREASTFEEDING?
Yes. Silicone sheets are topical and sit on the skin’s surface. They are safe to use while breastfeeding when applied to fully healed skin.


DO SILICONE STRIPS WORK BETTER THAN GEL OR SERUM? Medical-grade silicone sheets are widely considered the gold standard for helping reduce the appearance of raised or thick scars. Serums can complement silicone but should not be layered underneath the strip.


CAN I USE THEM ON ITCHY OR NUMB SCARS?
Yes. Silicone can help calm visible irritation. Numbness is common after surgery and typically improves gradually over time.


CAN I SHOWER OR EXERCISE WITH THEM ON?
Yes, you can shower/swim with your strip applied. Although adhesion can reduce overtime if exposed to other wash products. Light exercise is fine, but remove if heavy sweating occurs and reapply once skin is dry.


WILL SILICONE HELP A FLAT BUT DARK SCAR?
Silicone supports hydration and visible refinement of texture. For pigmentation, protect the area from sun exposure and consider pairing with SPF once fully healed.


CAN I USE SILICONE WITH A SERUM OR SUNSCREEN? Apply silicone to clean, dry skin only. Do not layer products underneath. Serums can be used separately (for example, at night) once appropriate.


HOW DO I CLEAN AND REUSE THE STRIPS? Wash daily with PURE MAMA Silicone Strip Wash and lukewarm water. Air dry and store on a silicone tray. Each strip is typically reusable for 3-4 weeks, depending on care.


ARE THE SILICONE STRIPS UV PROTECTIVE? Silicone strips are not a substitute for sunscreen. While they cover the scar when worn, they are not rated for UV protection.


WHEN SHOULD I START USING COMPLEX SCAR SERUM? You can begin Complex Scar Serum once your incision is fully healed. Many women use silicone strips in the early months, then introduce serum as their scar matures to support texture and tone refinement. Do not apply serum underneath the strip.


WHEN SHOULD I SEE A DOCTOR? Seek medical advice if you notice increasing redness, swelling, discharge, fever, severe pain, or if the wound reopens.
