Where are Pure Mama products made?

We are incredibly proud to have all our products 100% made in New Zealand. Our local team expertly designs, tests, and refines our products until they are perfect for Mamas.

Can I use Pure Mama products if I have a nut, gluten, wheat, or soy allergy?

Some Pure Mama products contain nut oils and soy oil. The extraction methods for these ingredients remove allergy-causing proteins; however, we cannot guarantee that all traces have been eliminated. Therefore, if you have a gluten intolerance or a wheat, nut or soy allergy, we recommend that you patch test first or consult your medical practitioner before using any new skincare product.

You can find the full ingredients lists on the product pages on this website and on packaging.

Do you use preservatives in your products?

Our oils and balms are preservative free. All water-based skincare products require a preservative to protect against yeasts, moulds and bacteria. Pure Mama only uses safe, NATRUE approved preservatives. This ensures the safety of our products for human health.

Can I buy Pure Mama products in store anywhere?

Yes, we are available at a wide range of selected stockists in NZ. Please see our stockist page for further information.

Can your products prevent stretch marks entirely?

In short, no. We are very careful not to promise anything around entirely preventing stretch marks as there are many contributing external factors that are completely out of our control, including but not limited to, how fast your baby grows, the position of your baby, your birthing experience how your body adapts, your water intake, exercise, and genetics, which can all play factors in getting stretch marks. And these can differ between pregnancies, too.

Our blends are all expertly formulated to help hydrate and nourish the skin and we absolutely stand by these, along with the many tried and trusted
ingredients that have previously been through external clinical trials to show their effect on skin health

Whilst using oils can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks (and many women have shared their results and reviews with us), it cannot stop them from forming
altogether as your body will respond in its own unique way throughout pregnancy.

Can I use the Belly Oil for Perineal Massage?

Yes you can. A lot of our customers have used it for Perineal massage. If any irritation or discomfort occurs please rinse with warm water and discontiue use.

Can I use your products in the first trimester?

Yes you can. All products can be used on the skin from the first trimester.

Note: If you are performing any type of deep tissue massage with the Magnesium Body Rub then please consult with a healthcare practitioner as pregnancy massage is not recommended in the first trimester (the packaging reflects this saying use from the second trimester).

CAN I USE THE BELLY OIL FOR BABY MASSAGE?

The PURE MAMA Belly Oil can be used for baby massage. The blend focuses on natural ingredients, is gentle on skin and does not contain any synthetic fragrances. We would recommend that you wait until baby is 1-2 weeks old before introducing anything new on their skin. We also recommend to do a small patch test first on their arm to see if any irritations occurs. If it does, simply wash with warm, lightly soapy water.

WHAT DOES PARFUM MEAN? WHAT IS YOUR FRAGRANCE?

The PURE MAMA product range used natural fragrances rather than synthetic fragrances. All fragrances are Phthalate free. Please note that over time the fragrance can change subtly when exposed to direct sunlight or air.

The Nipple Butter is incompletely fragrance free.
